At my church we are about to gather a mission team. I am excited about this and have been praying and thinking about it for a long while now.
In my thoughts I have been thinking about how we are shaped by our knowledge of Christ and how this impacts how we understand mission. Following on from this is the premise that our mission shapes the church.
I am hoping that the small group of people that will meet at our house tommorrow night will establish themselves in the love of God and will share together being gudied by the HS. I hope that we form a strong sense of community.
In the past our SA has run sections, events and programs to try and win people for Jesus. This worked well for a while until unintentionally the means to an end became the end in itself. These days we need to be a genuine loving community to be of any interest to not yet believers. Our goal will still be to win souls for Jesus within TSA however we may not try to reestablish sections, events and programs but replace them with BBQ's, parties, and activities.
Please pray with me that God will bless our faithfulness to him and guide us in our discussions. May we be a community established in love.

ANZAC DAY
ANZAC Day is one of the most profound days in the year for me. This year I watched the movie 'We were soldiers' with Mel Gibson (Great movie!).
What I thought about as I watched this film is the sacrifice and the courage these young men showed. They blocked out all pain and fought on whether they were Aussies, Americans or from men from Vietnam. Young men, barely adults had to grow up and face many challenges on their own and together for the freedom of their country.
I pray that we may always show respect and remember the fallen and the returned service men and women. I pray we will have a sense of their sacrifice and be grateful that we did not have to stand along side of them.
I wonder what God made of all of that bloodshed?

In the beginning
This is my first post. A trial of sorts to see what life has to offer. I am a Christian man keen to journey with God and discover what life is all about. I want to please God in every way and live life to the fullest.
If you are a fellow traveller and would like to share in my journey, please contact me. I am interested to here from you about God, life and everthing in between.
